Position Summary & Objective
A Team Leader will effectively perform the essential functions & duties of one’s primary role in addition to the elevated supervisory responsibilities outlined below which provide leadership and support to their designated teams.
Essential Functions:
- To promote the company core values & competencies through leading by example in all interactions with team members
- To be the point person for the combined AA and AM teams on general day to day operational issues
- Develop advanced knowledge of BMS and corresponding workflows
- To promote accountability for quality of work and key performance goals within the teams
- Run various monthly reports (key performance measurement reports, production, retention,
expiration, outstanding processing, and general audits, etc.) - Conducting positive and purposeful team meetings
- Provide support for other team members as needed (AA, Personal AM or HNW team members)
- To participate in the recruitment and training of new hires within the team, as well as providing ongoing feedback, day to day coaching and mentorship
- To work with Management to prepare an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) to each member of the team.
- To escalate employee concerns and performance issues within the team to Management or Human Resources, prior to any potential disciplinary action.
- To maintain confidentiality on all discussions with Management.
Additional Duties
- To schedule and approve requests within the team for vacation & personal days, as well as maintain up to date records of attendance, including sick days, for year-end reconciliation.
- To manage team-building expenses, as per an annual budget approved by Management.
- Maintain RIBO license and other provincial licenses as required
- Cultivate strong relationships with underwriters
- Maintain advanced knowledge of markets and underwriting appetite
- Complete Leadership Training course

Skills and Qualifications
- Education – University Degree, preferred
- Languages – Ability to speak French would be an asset
- License & Certification – RIBO License required, CAIB, CIP, & CRM is an asset
- Industry Experience
- Proven industry and managerial experience in Personal Lines
- Brokerage experience would be an asset
- Computer Skills – Proficiency in EPIC, advanced MS Office & Excel skills
